Club Announcements

The club meets every Wednesday evening from 7:30pm in Fort Road Newhaven BN9 9DL, we are above the Surf Shop / Newhaven Centre, this is on Newhaven west quay by the Marina.

The N&DMRC model railway exhibition will again be held this year at the Seaford Baptist Church Hall, Belgrave Road, Seaford, East Sussex BN25 2EE on Saturday 27th October 2018 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The venue is a 5 minute walk from Seaford Station turning left from the station onto the A259 towards Newhaven; it is just past the British Legion on the right hand side of the road. Brighton & Hove buses 12 and 12A stop close by.

This year we have 13 layouts appearing with trade support from Railroad Trading, Ken Roberts Videolines, Eastbourne Models, Model U, Simply Southern and of course the club shop.

Holly Bank Grove.  MPD  N & D MRC layout.  1955-1963  4mm OO gauge.
Holly Bank Grove is a 4mm layout of a shed based in York area. Eastern and North Eastern locomotives prevail many of which are kit built.  9ftx 18″
Watched Town
Watched Town is a 7mm narrow gauge layout set near Bridgewater/Minehead line.  A delightful layout, kit built and scratch built models.  9ft x 2ft. DCC operated
Four Oaks  East Grinstead MRC 1960’s
Four Oaks is a terminus type layout based on an electrified  branch in Sussex.  Green diesels and BR steam along with 2 car electric units.  30ft x 2ft
Bee Road  4mm OO gauge
Set in the early 1960’s and based in the Coventry/Nuneaton area the layout is present by a DOGA member Gerard Pearson.  Green diesels working along side DMU’s and steam engines of the period   18ftx 2 ft.
Wickhambreux Road   009 narrow gauge.
Based on the Canterbury Light Railway, just prior to WW2, the CLR transports coal from the local colliery and runs an infrequent passenger service.  Presented by Dave Marshall.
DOGA stand will be in attendance.
Taney Bank & Hobbs Row  009 narrow gauge
Two delightful layouts presented by Bob Vaughan, who joins us again this year with these two layouts.  Taney Bank is set somewhere in the 1960’s on a preserved ex industrial railway somewhere in Warkwichshire.
Hobbs Row is a “running in” miniature layout!
